Deepika Padukone has graced the cover of a glamour glossy and her retro look is simply stunning. See it here.

Bollywood’s stars dazzle both in the glamour and acting worlds. And no one does this better than our very own Queen B, Deepika Padukone. In her latest magazine cover for Elle, Padukone shines in a retro look while sharing more of her life in an interview.

Elle has given us a peek of the interview on Instagram: “We weren’t a family that watched too many films. Dad was an athlete. Growing up, my sister and my childhood was all about school, cycling, playing outside... And it’s strange, but every time I watched them [the films], I felt like this is what I’m going to be doing. Even though there was no film connection,” says our #September cover star @deepikapadukone. #TheSeptemberIssue hits stands on September 6.”

Deepika too shared pictures from the magazine shoot; what is immediately noticeable is her elaborate eye makeup. Her thick wing eyeliner reminds us of the legendary Elizabeth Taylor from the Hollywood classic Cleopatra, and late singer Amy Winehouse. Bold, curved and full, the eyeliner gives prominence to Deepika’s eyes as she looks at the camera. Coupled with a bouffant, the picture has a very ‘60s high fashion feel to it. No light makeup here; the actor is heavily made-up but glamourosly so.

In one picture, she wears an off-shoulder cream-beige dress, while in the other she has a black sequinned dress. So impressive is the look that even boyfriend Ranveer Singh couldn’t resist from commenting. He wrote: “Queen!”

Farah Khan Kundar, who directed Deepika in her debut movie, also wrote: “Hey, I was there”.

Meanwhile, the actor hasn’t taken up any new project since the release of her film Padmaavat. However, Deepika is very much in the news thanks to stories of her upcoming nuptials to Ranveer. Speculations suggest that the duo will wed in the scenic Italian town of Como surrounded by their closest of family and friends. Since the couple wants it to be a strictly private affair, guests have been asked not to bring their camera phones! Ahead of the wedding, Deepika’s parents will also hold a grand Nandi puja in her hometown, Bengaluru.
