'Delhi boy' to cast in Gyrah Challis Ki Last Metro

Makers of Gyrah Challis Ki Last Metro on lookout for Punjabi boy to play Vivek Oberoi’s best friend. And to achieve perfection, the casting team will travel by the Delhi Metro for two weeks from Rajeev Chowk to Uttam Nagar during rush hours in the evening and find the perfect guy.

Makers of tentatively titled Gyrah Challis Ki Last Metro, have decided to take an interesting route to cast an actor for Sanjay Khanduri’s movie.

They need a Punjabi boy from Delhi, who is well versed with its daily lingo, to play Vivek Oberoi’s close friend. And to achieve perfection, the casting team will travel by the Delhi Metro for two weeks from Rajeev Chowk to Uttam Nagar during rush hours in the evening and find the perfect guy.

“Vivek plays a Punjabi boy from Delhi, who has a ‘I don’t give a damn’ attitude. So, he would have his bunch of friends too in the film. The makers feel that since the Delhi Metro is the most common mode of transport for the city’s youngsters, it’s the best place to spot and pick up young boys who could be cast,” says a unit member.

Apparently, the production house has placed people from their in-house Delhi team to travel up and down in the trains to find boys who would fit the bill, and organise auditions. The team also intends to observe little nuances of commuters, so that they can help the actors understand the ‘Delhi attitude’ and incorporate it in their performances.

When contacted, producer Amit Chandrra of Invincible Entertainment didn’t deny it but added briefly: “Since the role requires a typical Delhi ka munda (Delhi boy), we would be casting a perfect Delhiite for the part.”
