Be it Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan, many Bollywood actors get hurt while performing stunts for their films. In most cases, such incidents end up delaying shooting schedules, as the actor takes time to recuperate before getting back on the film’s sets. But John Abraham doesn’t fall in this category. The 43-year-old suffered a knee injury in October last year (while he was shooting for director Abhinay Deo’s film Force 2), for which he had to undergo surgery. But that didn’t stop him from performing a stunt for another film within 15 days of the procedure.

“The thing is that when you sign an action film, you have to pay the price for it. I love getting hurt; I don’t have a problem with that. That is the reason why after my surgery, even though I came back home on crutches, within 15 days, I did an action sequence for Rohit’s (Dhawan; director) film,” says John, adding that even when he was working on his upcoming film Rocky Handsome (directed by Nishikant Kamat), he “suffered two hairline cracks” in both his hands, and also “cracked a bit” of his skull.

But I feel that the pain was worth it, because there are eight action sequences in the film, and they all look amazing,” says John.

In spite of so many injuries, the Bollywood actor doesn’t believe in taking things slow. “What I don’t like is when people come up to me and say, ‘Oh, you are hurt. We are sorry.’ I know they mean well, but I have no time for sympathy. When I’m hurt, all I want to do is get back on my feet, and start shooting again,” he adds.
