He has spent over four decades in Bollywood, but veteran actor-writer Kader Khan refuses to take a break. Despite being unwell, he is passionate about cinema, and wants to keep the ball rolling. However, he regrets being sidelined by the industry. “I have been unwell, and people have refused to take me in their films,” says Khan.

But, the 79-year-old actor is excited about his upcoming Bollywood movie, Fauzia Arshi’s Hogaya Dimaagh Ka Dahi. “When she (Fauzia) narrated the film’s script to me, I found it exciting. Another reason I liked the project was the fact that Om Puri and Raajpal Yadav were in it,” says Khan, who used to utilise his time teaching Urdu and Arabic, when he was not working in films in the past.

The actor, who has written dialogues for over 100 films, is upset about the kind of language used in Bollywood films today. “I am writing a couple of scripts. I will try to bring quality back in the language used in films. I want to remake Shama (1981). It is in the scripting stage at the moment,” he says.
