Ishaan Khatter calls Deepika Padukone Chewbacca on her pic from the salon

Ishaan Khatter has poked fun at Deepika Padukone’s latest picture, comparing her to Star Wars’ friendly Wookie, Chewbacca.

Actor Ishaan Khatter had a funny reaction to actor Deepika Padukone’s latest photograph and called her Chewbacca, a fictional character in the popular Star Wars franchise. Deepika, who attended the Met Gala 2019 in New York on Monday, posted a photo on Instagram.

In the image, she is seen sitting in front of a dressing mirror, getting her hair dyed. The Padmaavat star’s face is covered, thanks to her long tresses. She captioned the image: “24/7”, expressing in the fewest words possible what a day in a life in showbiz is like.

Ishaan compared her mirror selfie with Chewbacca. He wrote: “Chewbacca is that you?”

 

Deepika shared more pictures from her Met Gala appearance on Monday and her husband Ranveer Singh left comments on almost all of them. On Deepika’s look, Ranveer wrote: “Come on Barbie, let’s go party” in reference to the hit 1997 track Barbie Girl by Aqua. His comment was accompanied with a wink and lip emoji.

On other posts, he wrote “Queen” and “Unreal” and sent his love in the form of heart emojis. The Simmba star also commented on Deepika’s images by her stylist Shaleen Anathani. In one of the pictures that Anathani shared, Ranveer commented: “Love it! Smashing!”

 

In sync with this year’s theme Camp: Notes on Fashion, Deepika stepped out as an exaggerated, campy version of Barbie. She added drama to her look with a voluminous high ponytail adding a little sparkle with the bejewelled pink hair band, dramatic burgundy lips and purple eye make-up. She completed her look with a pair of diamond earrings and a statement cuff.

On the acting front, Deepika will be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s next titled Chhapaak, where she will be seen playing an acid attack survivor. The film also stars Vikrant Massey.
