Despite being branded as misogynistic, Luv Ranjan’s sequel to 2011 hit Pyaar Ka Punchnama is a hit at the box office. The film, which was made at the modest budget of Rs 9 crore, has made a stupendous Rs 22.4 crore in three days since its release.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Monday, “#PyaarKaPunchnama2 has been lapped up in a big way... Fri 6.80 cr, Sat 7.60 cr, Sun 8.35 cr. Total: ? 22.75 cr. India biz. OUTSTANDING!” Released in 1,400 screens all over India, critics were predicting that the film would break even over the weekend itself.

The film, however, did better than expected and is already a runaway hit.
Pyar Ka Punchnama 2 is about three men who ‘fall in love’ with three women, and willingly suffer their whims and fancies. The film stars Omkar Kapoor, Sunny Nijjar, Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha, Sonalli Sehgal and Ishita Sharma in lead roles.
