Jatin, 33, who studied acting in the Shri Ram Centre For Performing Arts before moving to Mumbai in 2016, is all praise for Anurag Kashyap, director of the web series. Anurag was also the presenter of the film Meeruthiya Gangsters.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has co - directed the webseries Sacred Games.

“I’ve been very lucky to have worked with someone like Anurag sir,” says Jatin. “He is like a godfather to actors like us who come to Mumbai with a passion for acting and are not star kids. The kind of freedom he gives his actors to improvise isn’t something every director allows... Anurag sir shows a lot of trust in his actors,” he adds.

After doing Meeruthiya Gangsters, Jatin would often message Anurag, hoping to work with him. “I asked if he had any appropriate role for me,” says the actor. “Then one day, I went to the sets of this show I was working on, and came to know that he was casting for a project. I went for the audition and while getting my makeup done, he came up to me and said ‘Are you happy now?’ That is the kind of attention he gives to his cast.”
