Saqib Saleem: I am not an actor who will give a 30 crore opening
Actor Saqib Saleem says he never thinks of the money a film will make before coming on board and is satisfied as long as his producers recover the money they spend.bollywood Updated: Jun 11, 2017 15:17 IST
Unlike many actors, Saqib Saleem doesn’t keep track of how much money his film makes. The 29-year-old says as long as the producers recover the money spent on the film, he is satisfied. “I feel that if someone invests in my film, he should not lose that money. If that happens, then it bothers me. Whether a film becomes a blockbuster or not, that is not in my control. I take up films that I am proud of, how they do at the box office depends on many things,” he says. Saqib adds that one shouldn’t take on a film keeping the box-office numbers in mind. “I am very honest on this front. I am not an actor who will give a Rs 30 crore opening and my producers know that.”
Talking about how he goes about choosing his films, he says that although you don’t have much of a choice with your first film, you need to choose your second one carefully. “Your first film chooses you. You audition for everything that comes your way. From your second film onwards, you should take on work that interests you. The role needs to be worth it,” he says.
