Reacting strongly to the protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat turning violent, actor Prakash Raj has condemned the government as well as the opposition party for “trading” the kids’ safety for “vote bank politics”.
Students of a private school had a narrow escape when miscreants attacked two buses in Gurugram on Wednesday, allegedly protesting the release of Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh-starrer Padmaavat. At around 2pm, a GD Goenka School bus was pelted with stones on Sohna Road.
Prakash Raj tweeted, “Children of my country shiver with fear and cry....as karni Sena attacks a school bus....The elected Government looks the other way..The opposition party diplomatically reacts...aren’t u all ashamed to trade our children’s safety ..for ur vote bank politics..#justasking.”
When the bus was attacked, alert teachers and bus conductors told students, who were heading home, to lie down on the bus floor. Bus windows were damaged but students escaped unhurt.

{{/usCountry}}The driver said protesters attacked the bus without any warning. “There were small children in the bus. As police tried to thwart the attackers, we drove away to safety”, he said.
