Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh’s wedding functions have already begun in Udaipur. HT City got a sneak peek into what Neil and his to-be-bride Rukmini Sahay will wear when they tie the knot on February 9.
Neil, 35, will be seen in a traditional Rajwaada or royal look, which has been created by combining traditional fabrics and embroidery by the finest Rajasthani craftsmen. The garment will be embellished with a mix of aari, pure zari, kardana and resham. The outfit is designed by Sarath Krishnan.
“I got really emotional for a few moments on seeing the outfits, because it is sinking in now that I am soon going to be a married man,” says Neil. Rukmini will wear a lehenga-choli designed by the same designer. Using pure silk fabric combined with traditional hand threadwork and elements like stones, resham, sadhi, the outfit looks subtle and yet classy.
Talking about her wedding outfit, she says, “It’s an exquisite red lehenga and it’s the most important outfit of my life. We brainstormed a lot about how I would like to look. I am happy that the designer paid heed to all my whims and was patient with me.”
For the mehendi and sangeet ceremony, the couple has chosen Krishna Mehta outfits in green and pink.
