Zeishan Quadri has put his acting plans on hold; wants to focus on writing

Actor-filmmaker Zeishan Quadri regrets doing Kangana Ranaut starrer Revolver Rani, and blames the director Sai Kabir for not doing justice to the film’s script.

Filmmaker Zeishan Quadri, who rose to fame with Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012) regrets starring in Kangana Ranaut starrer Revolver Rani ( 2014). The Dhanbad born writer-filmmaker feels that the director of the film, Sai Kabir, couldn’t do justice to its script.

“Writing a film’s script is one thing and executing it is another. With Revolver Rani, the script was really good, but its director couldn’t bring same sentiment on the screen and that’s why it failed. Revolver Rani jaisi picture ab wapis nai karni. It was a mistake,” he says.

Zeishan’s other outing as an actor, Meeruthiya Gangster, also failed at the box-office. He holds the promoters of the film responsible for it.

“Till date, people who have seen the film come and tell me that they loved the film. It’s available online and even there one can see people appreciating it in the comments section. It wasn’t promoted the right way and there wasn’t much noise created around it. That’s how it failed to perform,” he says.

The 33-year-old, who came to Mumbai to “become an actor” has now put his acting plans on hold and wants to continue with filmmaking. “ I am not sure about acting right now. Kuch mazedaar aaega toh karenge usme bhi acting. But, for now I want to just write and make films,” says Zeishan, who is currently writing a romantic film.

“Because they are individual experiences, people can relate to them and stories are much more believable then. That’s why whenever I’ll write films I will draw some inspiration from my past experiences,” he adds.
