Tata Motors on Tuesday appointed Girish Wagh as the head of commercial vehicle business unit and a member of the executive committee, days after the incumbent Ravindra Pisharody stepped down from the post.
“Mr Girish Wagh will take charge of the new responsibilities with immediate effect and will closely work with Mr Ravindra Pisharody for a smooth transition,” the company said in a statement.
Wagh was heading the product line of medium and heavy commercial vehicles division of Tata Motors. He will continue to oversee the MHCV related scope of responsibilities until his replacement is announced, the company said.
During his tenure as senior vice president of Tata Motors’ programme planning and project management for passenger vehicles, Wagh successfully headed projects such as the small CV Tata Ace and Ratan Tata’s pet project Tata Nano.
