NEW DELHI: Varun Beverages, franchisee for soft drinks maker PepsiCo, on Wednesday filed preliminary papers with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) for an initial public offering (IPO) to raise over Rs 1,000 crore. The IPO entails sale of up to 25 million shares, including fresh issue of 15 million shares and offloading of stake by promoters. Varun Beverages, flagship company of the RK Jaipuria Group, produces and distributes products, including Pepsi, D7UP, Evervess Soda, Tropicana Slice and packaged drinking water under the brand Aquafina.
