Afghanistan seeks help for SMEs

War-hit Afghanistan on Wednesday sought Indian investments in sectors including mining and manufacturing to enhance economic engagement between the two countries.

War-hit Afghanistan on Wednesday sought Indian investments in sectors including mining and manufacturing to enhance economic engagement between the two countries.

Anwar Ul Haq Ahady, trade and industry minister, Afghanistan, said there were huge opportunities for Indian SMEs in the South Asian country, while addressing a two-day summit organised jointly by the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) and the Confederation of Indian Industry.

Inaugurating the summit, MSME minister Virbhadra Singh said the MSME sector has a key role to play in shaping India's GDP growth.
