Allahabad Bank on Saturday posted 56.26 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 200.39 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 128.24 crore for the same quarter last year.

The total income of the bank increased 40.16 per cent to Rs 1535.10 crore for the first quarter ended on June 30, from Rs 1095.20 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago, Allahabad Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 91.70, up 3.27 per cent on the BSE on Friday.
