Consumers in the National Capital Region (NCR) using compressed natural gas (CNG) fitted vehicles will soon have more choices to fuel their vehicles.
Private sector oil company, Essar Oil Ltd (EOL) on Friday announced signing an agreement with Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) to put up the latter’s CNG pumping facilities at petrol pumps of EOL in the NCR. With 12 petrol pumps in NCR, EOL has plans to set up 13 more retail outlets.
“Customers driving into Essar Oil petrol stations in the NCR can now look forward to multi-fuel options,” said S Thangapandian, CEO (marketing), EOL. “For Auto LPG, EOL has a similar tie-up with and Aegis Logistics,” said Thangapandian.
EOL has been adding multi-fuel options and has tie-ups with GSPC (Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation), MGL (Mahanagar Gas Limited), GAIL Gas, Sabarmati Gas, Adani Gas and Gujarat Gas Corporation for selling CNG sourced from these companies at its franchisee-owned and franchise-operated outlets.
“We are India’s only private sector oil retailer and have more than 1,400 operational outlets in our countrywide network,” said Thangapandian.
“Over the past few years, we have been working with our franchisees to ensure they have additional revenue sources from alternative fuels as well as non-fuel retail products.”
EOL has forged alliances with non-fuel retailers in segments, such as lubricants, food and beverages, agro products, telecom and banking and finance.
