Essar Group said on Friday it "fully intends" to honour all its rights and obligations under various pacts with joint-venture partner Vodafone and expects Vodafone to do the same.

"This will be done in accordance with all applicable laws and regulatory approvals," Essar Group said in a statement without elaborating.

Vodafone last week said it will buy out its mobile business partner Essar in a $5 billion deal. But media reports said Essar wanted more money to quit the joint venture.
