Cab ride aggregator, Ola today announced the appointment of former Infosys Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Rajiv Bansal as head of finance. Bansal will take charge as Ola’s CFO in January 2016.
In statement to the media Ola said Bansal brings close to 21 years of experience in finance with over 16 years at Infosys, where he was the CFO and had recently transitioned to being an Advisor to the CEO. He will be part of Ola’s core leadership team, the company said. Mitesh Shah, who is currently the Ola’s CFO, will lead Strategic Finance Initiatives will report to Bansal.
Bansal, 42, a cost and chartered accountant, joined Infosys in 1999, prior to which he was finance manager at Tata Technologies Ltd.
According to the remunerations of key executives declared by Infosys in the 2014-15 Annual Report, Bansal was the third highest paid employee in the company with a gross annual remuneration of Rs 4.72 crore, which was a 176 per cent jump over Rs 1.71 crore he drew in the year before that.
Bansal is also among the growing list of senior executives in corporate India who have over the last year or so have left traditional businesses like fast moving consumer goods, consulting and information technology to join relatively new internet and app-based businesses like Ola, Flipkart, Paytm and Snapdeal.
