Mobile handset maker HTC Mobiles on Friday said it has become an official sponsor for Kings XI Punjab, one of the eight cricket teams of Indian Premier League (IPL).
"HTC Mobiles, as an official sponsor, will occupy the right chest position on the Kings XI Punjab playing jersey," HTC Mobiles said in a statement.
It is held and promoted by a consortium, which includes Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta and Karan Paul.
The sponsorship comes ahead of the sixth edition of the Champions League, which is scheduled to be held between September 13 and October 4, 2014.
"Cricket is a widely followed game in India and youth has great interest in the sport. Therefore, we are hopeful and quite positive that with this association we will be able to further strengthen connect with the existing audience and expand our customer base too," HTC India vice president and country head Faisal Siddiqui said.
