I-T marks 150 years with art expo

The Income Tax (I-T) department on Tuesday took a special route to commemorate the completion of 150 years, with an exhibition of the works of 136 artists across the country, at the Lalit Kala Akademi.

The Income Tax (I-T) department on Tuesday took a special route to commemorate the completion of 150 years, with an exhibition of the works of 136 artists across the country, at the Lalit Kala Akademi.

The artists and photographers who created art for the special occasion include Jogen Chowdhury, Yusuf Arakkal, Jatin Das, Anjolie Ela Menon, Ganesh Haloi, Wasim Kapoor Ram Kumar and others, and leading photographers Raghu Rai and Diwan Manna.

"Initiated in Kolkata in 2010, through 18 workshops across India we collected these paintings," said Prakash Chandra, chairman, CBDT.

The department had participation with paintings by its officials Bratati Mukherjee, Sangeeta Gupta, PK Dash and RJS Gill.
