The European nation which offers one of the lowest tax rates has been a major investment destination for Indian entities.

“There are always some (Indian firms) who are interested in acquisitions (in Netherlands)... Many are looking for acquisition possibilities,” Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) Executive Director in India Robert V Schipper told PTI.

NFIA, a Dutch government agency, assists foreign companies to enter the European market through establishing business in the Netherlands.

Without disclosing much details, Schipper said that the Indian pharmaceutical, information technology and auto companies are among those interested in buyouts in the Netherlands.

“Most of the companies would be looking at setting up a small presence in the Netherlands... because it is a convenient location to start your marketing effort in North Western Europe,” Schipper said.

According to him, presently there are over 100 Indian companies having business activities in the Netherlands.
