And with the cars coming at a range of price points, for whatever you are looking for, there would be one of each type.

While market leader Audi will launch 10 new cars this year, its main challengers Mercedes Benz and BMW would counter the move with 15 new ones, making up for the bulk of the launches for the entire year. The other players in the industry including Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover and those such as Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley and Rolls Royce would also launch new cars to add to the tally.

“The outlook for this year for us is far better than what it was for last year,” said Philipp Von Sahr, president, BMW Group India. “We have ramped up localisation on our cars that gives us extra profitability to spend on marketing and sales activities and will launch 10 models this year. We believe 2015 will be much better for us and our sales should grow this year.”

“Some of these launches will be absolutely new cars that will open up new segments,” said Eberhard Kern, MD, Mercedes Benz India. “We launched the CLA sedan which did just that. The others would be upgrades or refreshes of existing models like the new C class diesel and B Class sports tourer. We are looking at another double-digit growth in sales.”

The Indian luxury car market is currently estimated at 40,000 units per annum.
