Monsanto India posts Rs 26 cr loss in Sep quarter

Monsanto India Ltd today reported Rs 26.38 crore net loss for the quarter ended September 30.

Monsanto India Ltd on Monday reported Rs 26.38 crore net loss for the quarter ended September 30.

The company’s net loss stood at Rs 4.81 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a regulatory filing.

Total income fell to Rs 39.93 crore during the July-September quarter of the fiscal from Rs 101.57 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the board of directors declared an interim dividend of Rs 15 per share.

Shares of the company today settled 4.12% lower at Rs 2,273.10 apiece on BSE.

Monsanto India is a subsidiary of US-based Monsanto.

With a presence of more than six decades in India, the company focuses on maize seeds and herbicide.

In 2014-15 fiscal, the company’s net sales stood at Rs 556 crore while net profit was Rs 106.30 crore.
