NTPC Jhajjar 500MW unit begins Commercial Operations

The 500 MW unit of Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project at Jhajjar of Aravali Power Company Private Limited (APCPL) a JV of NTPC Limited, has been declared commercial operations recently.

The 500 MW unit of Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project at Jhajjar of Aravali Power Company Private Limited (APCPL) a JV of NTPC Limited, has been declared commercial operations recently.

The unit has achieved COD within CERC stipulated 44 months of investment approval, making it eligible for 0.5 per cent extra return on equity throughout its life. The project shall have total installed capacity of 1500 MW, presently the work is in progress at the two other 500 MW units. Currently NTPC has nearly 16,000 MW capacity under construction.
