Public sector lender Punjab National Bank on Thursday said its net profit rose by 31.13 per cent to Rs 1,135 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2010, over the same period last year.

Total income rose to Rs 6,460.78 crore for the quarter ended March 31, from Rs 6,047.94 crore in the same period last year, Punjab National Bank (PNB) said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The board of directors proposed a dividend of Rs 12 per share or 120 per cent on the face value of Rs 10 each.
For the year ended March 31, 2010, the company has reported a net profit of Rs 3,905.35 crore, up 26.35 per cent over the same year-ago period.
Shares of PNB were trading at Rs 1,040 on the BSE, down 0.31 per cent from previous close.
