Price of diesel for bulk consumers cut by Rs 1.09/litre

Diesel prices for bulk consumers like railways, defence and state transport corporations have been cut by over a rupee per litre in line with the fall in global crude oil prices.

Diesel prices for bulk consumers like railways, defence and state transport corporations have been cut by over a rupee per litre in line with the fall in global crude oil prices.

However, there is no change in the retail price of diesel and petrol sold to cars and trucks at petrol pumps.

"In line with the reduction in global crude oil prices, oil marketing companies on Tuesday announced a cut in prices of bulk diesel, to be effective from Wednesday," said a petroleum ministry official.

In Delhi, price of diesel has been cut by Rs 1.09 a litre and the revised price will be Rs 59.32 a litre. Price in Chennai has been cut by Rs 1.18 a litre for a revised price of Rs 63.53 a litre. In Mumbai, the cut is Rs 1.20 a litre, while in Kolkata, the cut is Rs 1.14 a litre.

The price of retail diesel has not been changed. It currently costs Rs.57.84 per litre in Delhi.
