The benchmark Sensex rose by over 108 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Friday on the back of buying by funds in select heavy-weight stocks led by cements and capital goods segments.

The BSE-30 share index Sensex, which had gained 73.51 points in the previous trade, gained another 108.51 points at 14,613.08 in the first five minutes of trading.
Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange's Nifty rose by 24.35 points at 4,306.35.
Buying activity was confined to cement stocks like ACC, Gujarat Ambuja Cements and Grasim Industries. Stocks of ABB, Bharat Earth Movers and BHEL in the capital goods segment also gained in the early trade.
