Tata Motors has confirmed that it will introduce three new electric SUVs in the 2026 calendar year. The first model expected to arrive will be the Sierra EV, followed by the Punch EV facelift, while the final launch will be the production version of the Avinya concept.

The homegrown automaker has also outlined its long-term EV roadmap, revealing plans to introduce five new electric nameplates in the Indian market by 2030. Of these, three have already been confirmed in the form of the Sierra EV, Punch EV, and Avinya.

The Sierra EV has already made multiple appearances through teasers and official videos released by the brand. Interest around the Sierra nameplate has been strong, with the ICE-powered version receiving over 70,000 bookings within the first 24 hours of its launch. Expectations are similarly high for the electric variant.
Unlike the ICE model, the Sierra EV will be underpinned by a dedicated electric platform. It is also expected to offer an all-wheel drive setup, a feature missing on the internal combustion version, which should give it an edge in the electric SUV space.

Tata Punch EV Facelift
The Punch EV has proven to be one of Tata’s most successful electric offerings, thanks to its compact footprint and city-friendly nature. Built on a dedicated electric architecture, it has emerged as a practical choice for daily urban use.
In 2026, Tata is expected to introduce a facelifted version of the Punch EV. The updated model is likely to draw design inspiration from the Harrier EV, with revisions to the lighting elements, bumpers, and alloy wheels. Updates are also expected inside the cabin, including a new touchscreen infotainment system and the addition of more features.
Avinya
Tata Motors showcased the Avinya concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, presenting it as a futuristic and premium electric SUV. Given the strong demand for SUVs in India, it makes strategic sense for Tata to introduce Avinya as an EV from the outset.
Positioned as a premium offering, the Avinya will be sold through a separate retail network rather than existing Tata dealerships. The production-ready version of the Avinya is expected to be unveiled by the end of CY26.
