Badal forms committee to provide potable water

In a bid to provide safe and quality drinking water to rural population across the state, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal constituted an expert committee.

In a bid to provide safe and quality drinking water to rural population across the state, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal constituted an expert committee.

The panel would analyse different problems in the sector and suggest remedial measures, a spokesperson of the chief minister's office said in Chandigarh Sunday.

Badal appointed principal secretary science, technology and environment, Karan Avatar Singh as chairman of the committee and secretary rural water supply and sanitation Sanjay Kumar its member secretary.

The spokesperson said the chief minister was concerned over the quality of water being supplied to rural areas.
