CM approves food park in Ludhiana

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has given his approval to the proposed mega food park at Ladowal in Ludhiana district.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has given his approval to the proposed mega food park at Ladowal in Ludhiana district.

The chief minister took this decision at a meeting with the officials concer ned, including Punjab Agro managing director KS Pannu, asking him to finalise a detailed project report (DPR) regarding the food park at the earliest to submit the same to the union ministry for food processing, headed by Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

The total cost of this project, to come up over an area of 100 acres, has been estimated at ab out Rs 150 crore. He also directed that a policy be finalised for allotting land sites in the mega food park to companies which would fir m up big investments in a time-bound manner. The CM also gave approval for two new ultramodern fish markets, one each at Amritsar and Bathinda, on the patter n of the one already approved for Ludhiana, a spokesman said.
