Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka, chief parliamentary secretaries (CPSes) Mantar Singh Brar and Saroop Chand Singla, and MLA Harpreet Singh Kotbhai, in a joint statement here on Monday, said the Congress was earlier paranoid of Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Badal, but now they seemed to have developed a phobia of Bikram Singh Majithia as well.

In the face of successive failures, Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh has lost his reasoning and is drifting like a rudderless ship, they said, adding that the former CM had even failed to ensure his son's victory in parliamentary and assembly elections.

Senior Congress leaders such as Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Partap Singh Bajwa coming out openly against Amarinder's leadership speaks volumes of his future in the party and the lack of faith the Congress cadre has in his leadership, Maluka and the others said.

"The Congress' level of confidence can be gauged from the fact that they had to resort to the screening of Majithia's CD at their political conference at the Maghi Mela on Sunday to ensure a decent gathering," the Akali leaders said, adding that the day was not far when the Congress would probably invite Majithia to their rallies to ensure good crowds.
