Taking note of her involvement in a corruption case, the UT estate officer-cum-deputy commissioner has dismissed a junior assistant working with the estate office with immediate effect.
The erring official, Jasbir Kaur, was booked for cheating under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in 2001 for committing irregularities in allotment of a plot, with the connivance of bogus allottee and an estate office official.
Rama Kant Mishra, who was working as clerk in the estate office, has already been dismissed from service.
Kaur had issued receipt to a fake allottee, who was not holding any letter of allotment, either provisional or final. A corruption case was filed against Kaur in the court that had held her guilty.
The court order issued on June 5 read, "This court has considered the contention of the defence counsel representing Kaur, but the same have been found to be devoid of any force or substance. The complicity of Kaur stands established from the fact that she issued receipt to a fake allottee."
UT deputy commissioner Mohammed Shayin in his orders issued on August 27 stated that there was no need for holding further inquiry into the matter and there was sufficient evidence as aforementioned on the record of this office. Hence, considering the said facts brought on record, Kaur is dismissed from service.
In the past one year, Shayin has dismissed as many as six employees working in different departments under him.
On November 25, 2013, a sub-inspector (enforcement) and a clerk working with estate office were terminated for their involvement in corruption case. On September 23, a junior assistant working with estate office was dismissed from service for irregularities, while on September 18 a clerk posted at election department was terminated from service for remaining absent from duty. On September 10, two officials of UT Red Cross Society were dismissed for failing to perform their duties, which led to financial loss to the society.
