The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday asked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal to make public the evidence, if any, against Punjab revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia of his involvement in the drug racket.
In a statement here, SAD general secretary and core committee member Maheshinder Singh Grewal said the AAP leader was practising deceitful behaviour by voicing the same allegations against Majithia which he had levelled a few months ago during the run-up to the parliamentary elections.
"He is not mindful of the fact that the allegations have been gone into by four central agencies without any evidence emerging against Majithia," adds Grewal.
Grewal said in case the AAP leader had any evidence against Majithia, he could have filed a petition in the court. "What stopped him from doing this?" asked Grewal, adding that the 'noises' Kejriwal was making now were a last-ditch attempt to garner cheap publicity and save his party, which had seen a severe erosion in people's support in the past few months.
Terming Kejriwal as a liar who was ready to disturb the hard-won peace of Punjab by patronising former Naxalites, Grewal said the people of the state should observe the persons who accompanied the AAP leader on his recent visit to the state.
