Urban development and town and country planning minister Sudhir Sharma on Thursday said that as per the proposed amendment in the Town and Country Planning Act, families below poverty line (BPL) need not pay fee for approval of house plan.
Sudhir Sharma stated this while presiding over a meeting of officers of town and country planning and urban development departments to implement the single window system in urban local bodies (ULBs) here.
He said that so far, 33 ULBs had been notified under the town and country planning area in the state while 34 others were under Special Area Development Authority (SADA).
With a view to ensuring planned development of the urban areas, the state government has proposed to bring all ULBs under the planning area which will also help in providing basic facilities as per the requirements of the people of urban areas.
The minister said that so far only 12 ULBs were authorised to give planning permissions and it would be ensured that all such ULBs were delegated powers for approval of plans where development plans had already been prepared.
He said that executive officers and secretaries of the nagar panchayats and municipal committees had been imparted training.

{{/usCountry}}He also directed the TCP department to formulate a master plan to bring uniformity in house plan approvals in the state. He added that all these measures were being taken to facilitate the common man of the state.
