HC orders Haryana Lokayukta not to pass orders till next date in HC

Haryana chief parliamentary secretary Vinod Bhayana has approached the Punjab and Haryana high court challenging orders of Haryana Lokayukta justice Pritam Pal (retd) in a graft compact disc (CD) case showing Bhayana making alleged negotiations with some persons for getting change of land use (CLU) permissions for agricultural land.

The court headed by justice Ritu Bahri while issuing notice to the Haryana government and other respondents in the petition ordered that the Lokayukta shall not pass any orders in the case till the next date of hearing in the high court on September 29.

Haryana Lokayukta in his order on July 2 had refused to give any reprieve to Bhayana and other four accused Congress leaders who had pleaded that the very allegations that they sought money in lieu of CLU permissions were baseless and the complaint was not maintainable by the Lokayukta under Section 9 of the Haryana Lokayukta Act. They had also submitted that none of them held the CLU related department, hence there was no question of getting CLUs to anyone. Lokayukta had directed the MLAs to file their replies by July 23.

INLD had also released a CD involving CPS Ram Kishan Fauji in a similar case and later Lokayukta had recommended registration of a criminal case against Fauji.
