Haryana chief minister on Tuesday presented a wish list to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the latter had laid the foundation stone for the four-laning of Kaithal-Narwana-Barwala-Hisar-Siwani national highway (NH) till Rajasthan border.
The chief minister urged the Prime Minister also to get the four-laning of certain others highways done.
FOUR-LANING OF HIGHWAYS
Hooda demanded four-laning of the 95-km Ambala-Kaithal stretch of national highway, 152.68 km stretch of NH-352 from Jind-Narwana to Punjab border, NH-7 and 104-km Yamunanagar-Panchkula stretch of NH-344.
He also wanted 7.7-km Pinjore bypass connecting NH-5 with NH-105 constructed by the National Highways Authority of India on the engineering procurement and construction (EPC) mode. Hooda said the land for the same has already been acquired. He urged the Prime Minister that the incomplete portion of national highway-1 between Panipat and Jalandhar be completed speedily and the toll plaza may not be shifted for the same. He drew the attention of the Prime Minister towards the hindrances being caused in the flow of traffic because of the slow pace of the project.
Hooda said till the completion of the Panipat-Jalandhar portion of the road, no toll should be charged. The chief minister also urged the Prime Minister that the 90-km stretch of state highway-11 from Punjab to Panipat via Kaithal-Rajound-Assandh-Safidon be declared a national highway. It will provide an alternative highway for national highway 1 connecting Delhi with Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

SEEKS TOLL TAX WAIVER
The chief minister also requested the Prime Minister to do away with the policy of charging toll on national highway because high toll charges at frequent intervals cause inconvenience to the travellers.
He suggested that the government should have a uniform rate of toll tax, which should be charged at the time of purchase of vehicle or on its registration.
The CM also urged the Centre to set up speedily the Rail Coach Factory sanctioned for Haryana.
