The police have registered a case of extortion against some unknown persons for demanding money from a businessman in Kalka.
Sushil Goyal, who runs a pharmaceutical company at Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), told the police that he received a letter in his letter box from Ravi Pujari demanding Rs 1 crore from him or otherwise he would be killed. A resident of Seudi village, he also informed that along with the threat letter, he was also sent two live cartridges.
A gangster by name of Ravi Pujari is notorious for extortion in Mumbai. But it is for the first time that someone is using his name in Kalka.
“We have registered the case. The letter bears the name of Ravi Pujari,” said DCP Panchkula Ashwin Shenvi.
Not for the first time
Last week, the police had registered a case of making an extortion call of Rs 11 lakh to a Sector 7-based businessman, Sameer Aggarwal of Panchkula. He received a SMS from an unknown number which was asking for Rs 11 lakh. The SMS also said that the sender was a professional killer and someone had paid Rs 5 lakh to kill him so he better arrange for Rs 11 lakh.
Karam Chand, Kalka resident and property dealer, had received two extortion calls from gangster Manga in July, 2013. Manga, a member of Nishan Singh gang, has been in the Ambala jail for murder of Bobby, his rival. Chand was asked to pay Rs 5 lakh.

{{/usCountry}}On September, 2011, two men fired at a car of Sector-4 resident Anil Kumar Bhalla to terrorise him on the direction of Manga. He had made a call demanding Rs 10 lakh from him or face dire consequences. The suspects who fired at the car were later arrested.
