Khamano patients referred to PGI due to lack of facilities

Civil medical officer Dr SK Gogna said the absence of an ultrasound machine had made it difficult for doctors in the civil hospital to attend to delivery cases.

Moreover, the absence of a dedicated anaesthetist had forced the hospital to hire private anaesthetists, who were charging Rs 1,800 per visit, he said. Dr Gogna also informed that the existing ambulance in the hospital was old and inefficient, due to which the hospital had to avail the ambulance service provided by the central government.

The list of problems in the hospital does not end here. Dr Gogna stated that the hospital lacked cleanliness as sweepers had refused to report to work because their salary arrears of Rs 84,000 had not been paid.

Dr Gogna said the hospital had requested the state government to provide an ultra sound machine worth Rs 8 lakh, which was required to prevent mishaps during critical delivery cases.
