A first class judicial magistrate from Ludhiana, Sukhbir Kaur and her four-year-old son Alampreet Singh died while her husband Hapreet Singh sustained serious injuries, in a road accident in Phillaur sub-division of district on Monday morning.
The family was on its way from Amritsar to Ludhiana.
Their car (PB02-V-0065) rammed into a tanker when the tanker driver took a turn towards Rahon road from the main highway when they reached near Phillaur bus stop.
Kaur along with her husband and son were rushed to Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana where Kaur and they succumbed to her injuries.
The bodies were sent to Ludhiana Civil Hospital for post-mortem and were handed over to the families after examination.
