To ensure quick disposal of court cases, a national Lok Adalat will be organised in Rupnagar and Anandpur Sahib on November 23.
Chief judicial magistrate-cum-District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Rupnagar secretary Gopal Arora said criminal compoundable cases, Negotiable Instruments Act cases, motor accident claim cases and accident information report cases would be taken up in the national Lok Adalat.
Besides this, cases peratining to matrimonial or family, labour disputes including cases where re-employment with no back wages, and those relating to liquidation where claims of industrial workers for wages and other benefits were pending , would be taken up in the Adalat, he added.
Apart from its land acquisition cases including those relating to industrial boards, land acquisition for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), railways, other Centrally sponsored schemes and also land acquisition executions, civil cases, revenue cases, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), forest cases, disaster compensation, electricity and water bills cases, cases relating to sales tax, income tax, indirect tax (CESTAT), other revenue matters in Mumbai and Delhi and other commercial centres would be taken up.
Arora added, "Besides the civil cases pertaining to rent, bank recovery, easementary rights, debt recovery tribunal cases and pre-litigation cases would also be a part of the Lok Adalat."

{{/usCountry}}He also held a meeting with the senior managers of various banks situated in Rupnagar in which it was decided that all banks would sent a statement of all the pending cases and the recovery cases would be taken up even at pre-litigative stage.
