PU to offer new programmes for foreign students

Foreign students wanting to join Panjab University (PU) are likely to find new innovative programmes in the coming session. Discussions on developing the 'Study India Programme' from PU are going to start with a two-day workshop on May 11 and 12.

Foreign students wanting to join Panjab University (PU) are likely to find new innovative programmes in the coming session. Discussions on developing the 'Study India Programme' from PU are going to start with a two-day workshop on May 11 and 12.

The programme is being organised by the office of the Dean International Students. The workshop will have back to back lectures, interactive sessions, faculty participation and review sessions. The brain storming at the workshop will lead to a report that will highlight the key areas in which PU is found suitable to offer courses to the visiting foreign students.

The core of SIP is the India specific component be it languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion, Gandhian and peace studies, visual and performing arts, gender studies, social work, human rights and society.

In addition, subjects that reflect upon contemporary India as a growing nation in the areas of economics, business, administration, legal and political systems, international security and strategic studies communication and media, innovations in science and technology for development: bio-engineering, computer and mathematical sciences, urban and regional planning, public health and education and so on.
