High drama was witnessed outside a house at Sector 10 in Chandigarh on Saturday, when secretary of a Ludhiana-based college trust was not allowed to attend a meeting going on inside the house.
Prithpal Singh Grewal, secretary of the trust of Guru Nanak Girls College (GNGC), Ludhiana, was not allowed to enter the house and the police stopped him from going inside. The incident was the outcome of the ongoing tussle between the trust president Gurbir Singh, college principal Dr Charanjit Mahal and Prithpal Singh Grewal.
Grewal has not only complained against improper functioning of the trust to the members at Panjab University, but has also filed a complaint against president and principal of the college.
Talking to HT Grewal said, “My only fault is that I am trying to expose corruption going on in the college. The college trust is not functioning properly and authorities are trying to remove me so that they can continue with it.”
Grewal said that the trust deliberately held a meeting in Chandigarh and did not inform him. He claimed that there was a trust meeting in Chandigarh on April 22 as well and he had to attend it after taking police protection.

{{/usCountry}}“I tried calling the UT SSP today as well, but he was on leave. Even the IGP spoke to me over phone, but did nothing to ensure that I could attend the meeting,” Grewal said.
He added that he had to go back, as no one allowed him to enter the house.
In April the college principal and president had held a press conference in Ludhiana, where they had said that all complaints and allegations made by Grewal against them and the college working were baseless.
They even submitted an affidavit signed by the college faculty to the IG in Ludhiana. On this Grewal said that the college was involved in serious fund embezzlements, discrepancies in admissions, inhuman working conditions of teachers and much more.
Despite repeated attempts HT could not contact college principal Charanjit Singh Mahal on Saturday.
