The UT social welfare department will celebrate International Breastfeeding Week from August 1 as per the guidelines of government of India by organising various programmes in collaboration with the Food and Nutrition Board.

During the week, various competitions for mothers, "Annaparasham" ceremony, film show, skit on infant feeding guidelines will be organised. A state-level symposium will be organised on the closing day at community centre, Food and Nutrition Board, Sector 23.
The department will also organise three camps for mothers from August 1 to 3 at the Senior Citizen Home, Sector 43.
