Bengaluru customs officials arrested one person at Kempegowda International airport and recovered 2,398-gram gold from the person. The accused is said to be a foreign national and found carrying gold illegally on November 16.

The customs officials on Friday announced that they arrested the suspect based on a tip-off by DRI (Directorate of Revenue Intelligence). In a tweet, the Customs department said, “Based on the information given by the DRI, two passengers were intercepted who arrived at Bengaluru on November 16, in a flight. Both the accused are foreign nationals.”

In October, Officials of the Bengaluru customs department arrested a person at the Bengaluru airport for allegedly smuggling crude gold chains into Bengaluru. They also seized around 900-gram gold valued at around 46 lakh. The accused was sent for further questioning by the customs department.
