    Advisory: Traffic diverted from Bannerghatta road due to metro work

    Bengaluru traffic police issued a traffic advisory and said that traffic on Bannerghatta road that is moving towards the city is diverted at G. D. Mara Junction due to ongoing metro work. 

    “Commuters are requested to move towards Dalmia Junction and take right turn, further move towards 28th main junction,” Cops wrote in a note on social media.

    Youth perform bike wheelies at Bannerghatta road

    A man was seen performing a wheelie with his two wheeler at Bengaluru's Bannerghatta road. The video was which was taken last week was shared recently by the YouTuber Third Eye and tagged Bengaluru Police to take an action against the accused. 

    Karnataka's ADGP (Traffic&Safety) Alok Kumar said that the action will be taken on the accused.

    Biker wraps his number plate with bubble wrap to avoid traffic fine

    A biker was spotted in Bengaluru where he was seen covering the number plate of his bike with a bubble wrap to avoid the contact with traffic cameras. A YouTuber named Third Eye took to social media and shared the image, by asking police to take an action. The bike was also seen with a 'police' sticker on it.

    Avoid half helmets: Bengaluru police appeal to bikers

    The Bengaluru police on Thursday appealed to commuters and asked them to aviod wearing half helmets which are unsafe during the accidents. The police also suggested the bikers to invest in a good helmet to avoid fatal accidents.

    80 to 90 per cent deaths on Karnataka roads due to over speeding

    Karnataka's additional director general of police (traffic&safety) presented an accident data which showed that 80 to 90 per cent deaths in road accidents happened due to over speeding of vehicles at Karnataka. In 2021 alone, a total of 9, 101 people died due to road accidents in the state, said the ADGP. 

     

    In X, he wrote, “Be it moon, be it Earth, controlling speed is essential to reach the destination safely. Figures say it all. In Karnataka death due to over speeding is as high as 80-90%. As per my own analysis Over speeding coupled with Poor driving skills or drunken driving is the main killer."

    Festive season calls for crowds at city market

    The City Market Traffic Police Station said there is heavy traffic in several areas as people flooded the streets to get their festival shopping done. “On the occasion of Varamahalakshmi festival, KR Market, Mysore Road, Avenue Road and SJP Road are crowded due to heavy traffic on the roads around KR Market. Therefore, citizens are requested to use an alternative route without connecting to the market circle,” cops wrote on social media.

    Heavy vehicles ply on roads early in the morning

    Residents also informed the police that heavy vehicles including concrete mixers were plying on roads early Thursday morning and asked them to enforce peak hours rules. “I can see heavy cement mixers, gas cylinder trucks in ample quantity on road around Hope farm, Varthur. Where’s the peak hour enforcement?” the resident asked traffic cops.

    Illegal parking on footpaths

    Residents alerted police that vehicles were being parked on footpaths near the Vividus Hotel on Kumara Krupa Road, to which cops from the High Ground police station replied and said that the sector officer shall remove the vehicles and also book cases against the violators.

    Vehicle breakdown near Tin Factory towards Kasturi Nagar

    The Bengaluru traffic police on Wednesday evening issued an advisory on social media to commuters and said vehicular movement is slow due to a vehicle breakdown near the Tin Factory towards Kasturi Nagar. They requested the public to cooperate and plan their commute accordingly until the vehicle is removed.
