    Priyanka Gandhi Vadra hits out at PM for 'dig my grave' comment

    While addressing a public meeting in T Narasipura, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a strong exception to PM Narendra Modi's comments that the opposition party wants to “dig his grave”.

    Calling such statements "strange" and questioning as to whether it is an election issue as it is being used during the campaigning, she called on the people of the state to ensure this election is not about Modi or any other leader, irrespective of their party. (PTI)

    Rajnath S to join BJP's poll campaign in Karnataka tomorrow

    Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will join the BJP's campaign in Karnataka for the upcoming state Assembly polls from Belagavi and Bagalkote districts starting Wednesday, sources said. He had tested COVID positive last week. He has recovered from the disease.

    Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to campaign in Old Mysuru region today

    A day after union home minister Amit Shah and BJP National president JP Nadda's roadshows, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is now set to visit parts of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar, called the old Mysore region, which is a Vokkaliga heartland.

    She is set to campaign for the party's candidates, hold a roadshow at Mysuru's K R Pete and also be a part of a women’s convention in Chamarajanagar district, a report said.

    Leaders of oppn parties to meet after Karnataka elections: Cong sources

    A meeting of top opposition leaders of around 19 parties for forging a joint front against the BJP will be held after the Karnataka assembly elections, Congress sources told news agency PTI. The leaders were to meet up by the end of April earlier. Sources said the meeting has been delayed because of the May 10 Karnataka assembly elections.

    Officials seize cash worth 83.4 crore, liquor & drugs worth nearly 74 crore

    Ahead of the upcoming elections, officials in Karnataka have seized and recovered cash worth 83.4 crore, over 15 lakh litres of liquor worth 57 crore and 1,176.92 kgs of drugs/narcotics worth 16.5 crore till April 24, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer said. (ANI)

    'Former CMs Siddaramaiah, HDK stopped central schemes': Nadda

    BJP president JP Nadda accused former Karnataka chief ministers Siddaramaiah and HD Kumaraswamy of putting a stop to central schemes in Karnataka. He made the remark during a roadshow at Sidlaghatta in Chikkaballapur district. 

    "Governments of former CMs Siddaramaiah and HD Kumaraswamy created bottlenecks in a bid to stop implementation of the schemes of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. Schemes like PM Yashasvi Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi were stopped. Earlier, Siddaramaiah's government also did the same thing," said Nadda.

    Nomination withdrawal ends, 2,613 candidates in election fray

    Of the total 2,613 candidates that are in the poll fray in Karnataka, 2,427 are male, 184 are females and two others.

    The deadline for withdrawal of candidatures was Monday. A total of 517 candidates have withdrawn their candidature.
