Eleven Haryana Police personnel, including the inspector general of police (IGP) will be awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS) and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS), an official spokesperson said after the Union ministry of home affairs announced these medals on Friday on the eve of Independence Day.
Of the 11 awardees, one police officer has been selected for the President’s police medal for distinguished service, while 10 other police personnel will be awarded the police medal for meritorious service.
Sub-inspector (SI) Sushila Kaushik, presently serving with the state vigilance and anti-corruption bureau (SV and ACB) has been selected for the President’s police medal for distinguished service.
The 10 police personnel selected for police medal for meritorious service are inspector general of police (IGP) Nazneen Bhasin; deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Jitesh Malhotra; inspector Rajiv Ranjan; inspector Rajbir Singh; SI Sanjeev Kumar; SI Sandeep; SI Ramphal; ASI Pawan Kumar; ASI Praveen Kumar and ASI Anil Kumar.
Haryana director general of police (DGP) Ajay Singhal, congratulated all the officers and personnel selected for the prestigious police medals and said that the selection of 11 Haryana police personnel for the police medals on the occasion of Independence Day is a matter of immense pride and honour for the entire police force.
