12-year-old boy drowns while bathing in Ravi in Gurdaspur

A 12-year-old boy drowned while taking a bath in the Ravi river at Dharmkot Pattan, a border village near Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district.

The boy, Prabhjot Singh, was reportedly the only son of his parents. According to family members, on Sunday, Prabhjot went to the river for a bath with a friend from the same village.

As he stepped in the river, he accidentally entered deep water and drowned. His friend alerted the locals, who along with divers, recovered the body. The mishap has left the family and the entire village in deep grief.
