Five Uttar Pradesh Police personnel, including a sub-inspector, have been suspended for allegedly conducting a raid in Haryana without informing their senior officers, during which a gangster shot himself dead, police said on Sunday.

Superintendent of police (SP) K K Bishnoi said the Nangal police were looking for Pankaj, a resident of Tisotra, on August 25 in connection with a case.
His location was traced to Gurugram, following which sub-inspector Har Swaroop Sharma, accompanied by four constables, reached a house in Sector 14 of the city. The local Gurugram police were accompanying the Bijnor police team, the SP said.
Sensing the police presence, gangster Dikendra Pal (24), also a resident of Tisotra, allegedly shot himself dead during the raid, Bishnoi said. The wanted accused, Pankaj, was arrested from the spot, he said.
The five police personnel were suspended on Saturday for conducting the raid in another state without informing their senior officers, the SP said. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
