Chief minister-designate Bhagwant Mann on Saturday appointed 1991-batch IAS officer A Venu Prasad as the additional chief secretary to the CM.

Prasad’s appointment, the first to be made by the new chief minister, has kicked off the process of administrative changes with the change of government in the state.
Mann will take the oath of office on March 16.
Prasad was additional chief secretary, taxation and parliamentary affairs, and also held the charge of the chairman-cum-managing director, Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited, in the previous Congress government.
Earlier, he served as the principal secretary, water resources, power and local government.
He was the deputy commissioner of Faridkot from October 1999 to May 2003.
